About the role

North Northants Council’s Technology, Digital, and Data service is seeking a talented and dedicated Application Support Officer to join our hardworking and ambitious team.

Within our education area, we are beginning the process of replacing the core case management solutions, which presents exciting opportunities to play a key role in actively supporting and implementing these systems. As an Application Support Officer, you will be one of the primary points of contact for application support. While a strong knowledge of ICT and some experience in a technology environment is preferred, we are interested in individuals who are passionate about technology and customer service, and who are eager to make a difference and enjoy learning new skills and taking on challenges. If this sounds like you, do not hesitate to submit an application. This could be the career opportunity you have been searching for in local government.

What will you be doing?

This is an excellent opportunity to develop, shape, and implement a new case management system for the Council.

You will be responsible for assisting in supporting and implementing the education system and other key applications throughout the council. You will be supported by the Senior Applications Support officer to promote best practices and administer specific application systems.

Your responsibilities will also include troubleshooting issues, resolving users’ queries, and testing and ensuring the effective functioning of our systems.

About you

We are seeking a dynamic individual committed to providing excellent application support across North Northamptonshire. Experience in supporting education is preferred, while any experience with social care systems would be desirable.

You should possess excellent problem-solving and communication skills and be customer focused. Additionally, you must be accurate and detail oriented.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, organised, and capable of working in a Time Critical environment. You should be able to work both independently and as part of a team, managing competing priorities.

Our benefits

We offer:

  • a competitive salary
  • a pension scheme, where we pay a significant contribution on top of your contribution. It provides life cover and ill-health protection.
