About the role
This is an opportunity to join the Asset Management Team supporting the property asset function to deliver its objectives and to ensure the best outcomes for the people of North Northamptonshire are achieved.
Asset Management is one of three service areas within Assets and Environment and plays a key role in ensuring the land and property estate meets the service needs and aspirations of the organisation.
As a key member of the Asset Management Team, the Asset Records Officer will support with the management of the information held in the organisation’s estate terrier system responding to queries raised by council services and members of the public. Additional duties will include the drawing of building and site plans using AutoCAD for both the operational and commercial property estate.
What will you be doing?
In the role of Asset Records Officer, you will have the opportunity to work on a varied property portfolio of approximately 1800 assets. Reporting into the Strategic Corporate Property Manager you will be supporting the governance and management of the Council’s property asset records, data and property intelligence ensuring that adequate and effective systems are in place to verify and maintain the integrity of the data.
You will input and analyse data using the Council’s property database system and manage the information to enable the Council to monitor and plan asset utilisation/rationalisation. This work will enable council services to ensure properties are in the right location to meet the needs of the people of North Northamptonshire.
Liaising directly with schools, you will ensure net capacity assessments are up to date to support the School Admission Service with school sufficient planning.
About you
You will demonstrate excellent communication skills liaising with internal customers to deliver a complete asset data solution and to support the delivery of a varied workload within the team. You will bring experience and expertise to ensure the effective management of property asset data.
You will need:

A good standard of general education to GCSE, A level/NVQ Level 3

An experience of maintaining databases in a range of applications and the ability to use Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word and Teams

To be accurate with recording and data entry processes, checking the validity of information and checking and challenging where necessary

Good organisation and time management skills with the ability to plan and deliver within agreed timescales.
