About the role

In line with our commitment to the Care Leaver Covenant, this apprenticeship is restricted to applicants who are care leavers or have care experience as defined by the Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000. This includes anyone who has been in foster care, residential care, or other local authority care settings.

This 18-month Business Administrator Apprenticeship is a fantastic opportunity to start or develop your career in administration while gaining hands-on experience at North Northants Council. During the programme, you’ll work towards a Level 3 Business Administrator qualification, building valuable skills that will set you up for future success. This role is perfect for someone looking to begin or progress their career in business support, offering a blend of practical experience, learning and development within an environment where you can truly thrive. 

What will you be doing?

To provide administrative support to the ICF (Intelligent Client Function) and Children's Commissioning Team to ensure an efficient, effective and responsive service to both North Northampton, West Northampton and The Northamptonshire Children’s Trust. With a focus on adding value, the role of business apprentice contributes to the efficiency of the team, through support of functional areas, working across teams and resolving issues as requested. 

Building skills to use a range of digital tools, including Microsoft 365 and AI-supported applications, to improve efficiency and support day-to-day operations while contributing to team objectives.

The flexibility and responsiveness required allows the apprentice to develop a wide range of skills and experience across a variety of tasks.

About you

We are looking for someone who:

Is educated to GCSE level in English and Maths.

Has good organisational and communication skills.

Is confident using Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word and Excel.

Has a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Is interested in developing a career in administration and business support.

Can work independently while seeking support and guidance when needed.
