Our Business Support Officers are very important to us.  They perform crucial duties to support the teams they work for. 

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Safeguarding Adults Team as a PART TIME Business Support Officer. You will be required to carry out specific administration tasks, in order to support the professionals in a busy team. 

Applicants will be able to demonstrate good communication skills and be confident on the telephone. You will have a good level of IT skills with a sound knowledge of Word, Outlook and Excel and have a good attention to detail. The successful candidate will be organised and be able to use their own initiative. We need someone who is able to work under pressure and to deadlines and who is friendly and reliable.   

The main duties of the role are answering the phone, entering data on the database, maintaining spreadsheets and taking minutes at meetings.  Support will be given on all aspects of the role from both team members and the other BSO’s within other Adult Social Care teams. 

You will be joining a small team of other BSO's who work to support the Safeguarding Adults Team.

We have good training opportunities and you will be working within a supportive and friendly team. 

The salary for this role is £26,409 (pro rata) (which works out at approximately £11,782.70 per annum) and is based at Haylock House, Kettering.  

This role is fully office-based at Haylock House, Kettering, working Thursdays and Fridays 9am to 5pm.

What will you be doing?

The main duties of the role include answering telephone calls, inputting data into our Adult Social Care database, maintaining spreadsheets, processing safeguarding referrals, and sending out outcomes. 

There may also be a need for occasional minute taking (full training will be provided).

Working on a rota system, you will be part of a duty team responsible for processing all incoming safeguarding concerns. On non-duty days, you will assist with monitoring the team admin inbox, processing outcomes, taking minutes, and completing other administrative tasks as required.

You will join a small team of Business Support Officers who work closely to support the Safeguarding Adults Team. 

Due to the nature of the work, there will be an element of repetition, but full training will be provided to ensure you are confident in your role.

About you

You’re a highly organised and detail-oriented individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills, including confident and professional telephone manner. You provide great customer service and build positive working relationships with colleagues and clients alike. You thrive both independently and as part of a team, managing your workload effectively under pressure to meet deadlines. 

Applicants will be able to demonstrate good communication skills and be confident on the telephone. You will have a good level of IT skills with a sound knowledge of MS 365 - Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams and have a good attention to detail.
