Business Support Officer

Your differences make us different - #achievetogether

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

About the role

Our BSO’s are very important to us.  They perform crucial duties to support the teams they work for.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Community Kettering Team as a Business Support Officer.  You will be required to carry out specific administration tasks in order to support the professionals in a busy team.

As the sole BSO within the team, your role is critical.  However, we have a network of BSO’s within other teams who all support each other.

We have good training opportunities and you will be working within a supportive and friendly team.

We also offer:

  • Ongoing training and development opportunities.
  • Free on-site parking
  • EADS (Employment and Disability Service) are our specialist supported employment service. If you require any support to access this opportunity or our NNC recruitment process, please contact EADS directly on 07776 550531.

If you would like to discuss the role further, please contact Claire Worley on 01536 532444.

What will you be doing?

The main duties of the role are answering the phone, entering data on the database, maintaining spreadsheets and taking minutes at meetings.  Support will be given on all aspects of the role from both team members and the other BSO’s within other Adult Social Care teams.

About you

Applicants will be able to demonstrate good communication skills and be confident on the telephone. You will have a good level of IT skills with a sound knowledge of Word, Outlook and Excel and have a good attention to detail. The successful candidate will be organised and be able to use their own initiative. We need someone who is able to work under pressure and to deadlines and who is friendly and reliable.

Our benefits

We offer:

  • a competitive salary
  • a pension scheme, where we pay a significant contribution on top of your contribution. It provides life cover and ill-health protection.
  • opportunities to develop your skills, knowledge and potential in a large unitary council
  • generous leave entitlement (28 days, rising to 33 days) and bank holidays, plus the option to buy up to an extra 10 days
