What will you be doing?
The CCTV Operative operates and monitors the control room systems to agreed standards and complies with relevant rules, procedures and statutory requirements. They will respond to emergency situations / major accidents and incidents and will implement the Civil Emergency Plan and communicate in a clear and concise manner whilst remaining calm.
They will be up to date with all systems additions, camera locations and their vision capabilities and are able to understand and comply with technological processes required to competently use the system.
They will liaise with key partners responding to calls for service, reviewing and downloading footage, completing relevant paperwork whilst ensuring confidentiality and evidential standards are met.
Where required, they will progress matters to attending court to represent the Council for any prosecutions or case reviews as a result of an incident and producing footage.
They will be responsible for reporting and monitoring the day-to-day running of the control room and completing written documents clearly and concisely and maintain full records.

Reporting to the Safer Communities Operations Manager, this role is to deliver the Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) function for North Northamptonshire Council to support in discharging its statutory duties under the Crime & Disorder Act 1998. To ensure integrity, accuracy and confidentiality of all information gained by compliance with quality standards and legislation, whilst preserving the rights of the individual.
About you
We are looking to recruit an individual who can be flexible with their working hours, as our CCTV operations 24 hours a day. You must be able to work shift systems which include bank holidays.
You must have excellent customer service and communication skills and have experience of working on your own initiative, whilst under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
You must have IT experience on the use of day-to-day integrated systems and / or standard software packages.
You will be able to work in a demanding environment in a professional and efficient manner ensuring high ethical standards and integrity.
You will be able to demonstrate good observation skills and will be enthusiastic in your role. This is a role which will require you to work with partner organisations as well as teams across the Council.
