About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a person to join our team at North Northamptonshire Council . If you love working outdoors and are willing to learn a range of skills, this could be an excellent opportunity for you, apply now and become a valued member of the Grounds Services Team.
The successful applicants would preferably have experience in cemetery operations mechanical and manual digging. Covering the cemeteries throughout NNC the successful applicant will provide grass cutting, strimming, litter picking, hedge cutting, weed spraying, grave digging and other duties within the scope of the role.
The role is primarily based out of the Corby depot however the role may be deployed across the area of operations in Kettering, Wellingborough or Thrapston and the successful applicant may need to work out of any of these areas as a primary base.

What will you be doing?
Duties will include
Digging with hand tools
Mechanical Digging
Strimming/Grass Cutting/Shovelling soil
Manual Labour / Ground works
Litter picking
Weed spraying
Using hand tools
Watering and maintaining newly planted trees
About you
We operate in all weathers (rain or shine!) so you must be happy to work outdoors
This role can be physically demanding and will include lifting and carrying heavy equipment
Good communication skills as you will be liaising with our customers as well as internal members of staff and members of the public
You should have an interest in grounds maintenance or a willingness to learn new things (experience is desirable but if you don’t we can provide you with training required)
You should willing to try your hand at other jobs within the service, as some flexibility would be desirable
