About the role

This role is an opportunity to improve outcomes for people and communities within North Northamptonshire.

As a Commissioning and Contracts Manager you will develop and implement our strategic commissioning intentions. 

You will be: 

-    Engaging with stakeholders to shape the market 

-    Analysing current and future needs 

-    Leading the development and commissioning of services 

-    Overseeing, Issuing, reviewing, varying and novating contracts


What will you be doing?

Responsible for the development of joint commissioning strategies to develop and improve services across the older people, working age adults and community areas. 

The key objectives are:

-    Development and implementation of strategies 

-    Procurement of services 

-    Management and development of contracts across a range of service providers

-    Ensure service needs meets duties under the Care Act 

-    Leading the management of internal and external relationships 

-    Effective strategic planning across all commissioning activity 


About you

For this role you will be required to hold the following 

-    Degree or professional qualification or equivalent experience in Adult Social Care 

-    Degree or qualification or equivalent experience in contract management frameworks 

-    Understanding of risk assessment and management 

-    Practical and legal knowledge of contractual compliance 

-    Able to develop strong relationships 

-    Excellent communication skills, influencing and negotiation 

-    Understand relevant regulatory and legal requirements

-    Have good attention to detail, particularly in reviewing legal documents

-    Able to work as part of a team and support others
