About the role

There is an exciting opportunity to join the Contracts and Commissioning Team at North Northants Council. You will be part of a committed, innovative team working hard to develop and commission high quality, adult social care. We are looking for someone with experience in either social care, commissioning or contracts to join our team.  As a Commissioning and Contracts Officer you will support colleagues within the team with all aspects of the commissioning cycle inclusive of contract management and Adult Social Care market workforce support.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join the Commissioning and Performance Team, to support with Contracts and Commissioning functions.

  • Passionate about the impact of commissioning high quality services on individuals. 

What will you be doing?

With the support of the Commissioning Managers, you will be asked to lead and develop key areas of focus e.g. the Workforce Development Strategy 

Offer support in contractual queries presented by providers of services

Work alongside Commissioners in engagement with providers, in support of the market in meeting current and future need

Support the further development of team processes and protocols to ensure Commissioning and Contracts functions continue to run smoothly.

Interrogate data sources to aid members of the team with aspects of commissioning and the review of Contracts. 

Prepare reports and offer recommendations to update and advise colleagues within the team/directorate.

About you

The candidate will have:

  • excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects, and to prioritise workloads with tight and conflicting deadlines with minimum supervision
  • brilliant interpersonal and communication skills; verbal, written / presentation and listening, with the ability to build effective relationships within and outside of the organisation
  • experience of collecting, collating, analysing, and presenting information in a meaningful way
  • excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with a diverse range of individuals and groups

Where you will be working 

The team is based in Kettering, but the Council has a flexible working policy and supports hybrid and home working options. The ability to travel between sites across North Northamptonshire is essential to this post. There may also be occasions where you will be required to work outside of normal office hours.
