About the role
Do you have a passion for providing high quality services?
You will join our large team who are responsible for administration, billing and recovery of Council Tax in accordance with current legislation including all related tasks and dealing with enquiries from customers, ensuring income due to the Council is maximised.
We work closely with colleagues across the service and external partners to ensure the most effective delivery of the service to our residents and maximise income for the council and support continuous improvement to the service.
The team currently work in a hybrid way, so there are opportunities to balance great face to face service, with the flexibility to work remotely. North Northamptonshire Council Offices are located in Wellingborough, Kettering, Corby and East Northamptonshire so you will have the option and may also be required to work from any of these offices.
What will you be doing?
You will be administering Council Tax accounts in accordance with legislation and Council policy, monitoring accounts, processing changes of circumstance, making payment arrangements and processing payments.
You will also Update and maintain the Council Tax accounts to ensure that computerised recovery processes can be carried out and that accounts are accurate prior to enforcement action.
You’ll respond to customer enquiries on the telephone, face to face, correspond by letter, email and make outgoing telephone calls to progress recovery.
About you
You will have G.C.S.E English and Maths grade 4 or above. With demonstrable experience and up to date knowledge and practice in the administration of processing Council Tax.
Your excellent communication skills and excellent eye for detail will be essential.
You will be able to use Microsoft packages and other bespoke systems.
You will have excellent attention to detail and the ability to perform accurate calculations and assessments.
