About the role

Are you a talented and enthusiastic AAT qualified or part qualified CCAB accountant?

You will be responsible for supporting Adults Services, whilst also supporting the Senior and Strategic Finance Business Partner in the effective management and control of the annual revenue budget, the Council’s Medium-Term Financial Strategy, the capital programme, and the overall control environment with focus on strong financial governance.

What will you be doing?

You will support budget holders in financial planning and budget modelling for different scenarios. Ensuring accurate and timely budget monitoring including risk appraisals.

You will develop financial systems and processes to ensure robust governance whilst also bringing in new methods of working through the use of business and operational process improvements.

You’ll be supporting the production of the Medium Term Financial Plan (MTFP) and Capital Strategy and  the development of improved financial awareness of budget managers and staff through the development and delivery of management training.

About you

You will be CCAB part qualified /AAT qualified /equivalent or have significant financial experience with an understanding of how local government works including the complexities and challenges it faces.

You’ll be enthusiastic, innovative and driven with up to date knowledge of accounting policy such as IFRS, CIPFA codes of practice.

You be able to demonstrate the ability to work in partnership with private, public and voluntary organisations.  be driven and have initiative and confidence.

You will be experienced in analysing and addressing complex issues.
