About the role
The Fleet Technical Officer will manage vehicles operated across a wide range of service areas within the Council. Assisting and deputising for the Fleet Manager with have an in-depth knowledge of the regulatory requirements associated with fleet management providing a professional and encouraging approach to fleet operations to ensure the continuous development of the service.
What will you be doing?
- Assisting and deputising for the Fleet Manager in delivering a legal, compliant, efficient, and consistent approach to fleet management
- Continuously improve and develop the fleet service offered to meet legal requirements and the needs of the authority
- Maintain and continuously develop compliant fleet records and data
- Provide knowledge and guidance on fleet and driver compliance to teams across the authority
About you
As a Fleet Technical officer, you should have an in-depth knowledge of the regulatory requirements associated with fleet management and a strong desire to support the development of the service and provide a professional and encouraging approach to fleet operations.
A strong ability to work within a specialist team but also the ability to make decisions without consultation with the team to ensure service compliance and continuity.
