About the role

Do you have a strong background in health protection and the ability to shape the future delivery of health protection in North Northamptonshire? Do you want to make a real difference by providing system leadership across areas of COVID-19, outbreak planning and management, assurance of health protection functions related to screening and immunisations, and leading the public health response to environmental hazards?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health Protection Principal to join North Northamptonshire Council (NNC) Public Health Team. We are looking for someone with enthusiasm and commitment preferably with a professional qualification in a clinical area, health protection or equivalent experience. This role will include supporting the Director of Public Health to deliver health protection assurance activities including alignment of Northamptonshire and National plans. You will have detailed knowledge of all aspects of Health Protection together with the ability to interpret and communicate health protection data and concepts in a clear way to both healthcare professionals and non-specialist audiences.
