ICT Service Desk Analyst

Your differences make us different - #achievetogether

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

About the role

Newly formed North Northants Council’s Tech, Digital and Data service is looking for customer-focused and dedicated individuals to join our dedicated and ambitious team.  Our new team has big plans and ambitions to be an inspirational local government IT service and we need great people to help us achieve our goals.

If you love ICT and you’re looking for a new challenge, an opportunity has arisen to join our ICT Service Delivery team as we are looking for current or aspiring Service Desk Analysts.

Our ICT Service Desk is where our approximately 3000 staff across North Northants Council come to if they have any issues with ICT.  Our customers have many varied service and customer facing roles, and they rely on us to keep their technology working so they can continue to do the amazing work they do for the residents of North Northamptonshire. You’re never sure who is going to contact you and what help they are going to need, but that’s what makes this role so interesting and challenging.

What will you be doing?

The role will mainly involve providing 1st line ICT Support services, which means you will be the first point of contact for people with an IT issue. Although a good knowledge of ICT and some experience working in an ICT environment is preferred, we are very interested in people who are passionate about ICT and customer service, who want to make a difference and who love to learn new skills and challenge themselves.  If that sounds like you, don’t hesitate to put in an application.  It could just be the career you were looking for in local government.

There will be a lot to learn, but we will give you the training you need and continue to support you as you gain confidence. The ICT Service Desk covers all Information Technology and Communication services ranging through software, hardware, network, voice and Microsoft 365.

We value flexible working and work-life balance and you will have opportunities to work from home when possible. However, these roles are customer facing, so it will also involve supporting staff working all over North Northamptonshire. Initially you will be based at one of our main offices, however in time you will also be supporting staff at our other offices too, either in person or remotely, so having the ability to travel between sites is important.

About you

We are looking for a dynamic individual to work within a team and provide 1st and some 2nd line ICT Support services. The ICT Service Delivery team is committed to providing excellent levels of customer service.
