About the role
Our newly formed North Northants Council’s Tech, Digital and Data service is looking for a talented and dedicated systems engineer to join our brilliant and ambitious team. Our new team has big plans and ambitions to be an inspirational local government IT service and we need great people to help us achieve our goals.
NNC became a unitary in April 2021, merging 4 councils across the North of Northamptonshire, prompting a need for IT change across the estate. This has created an interestingly complex and challenging environment, and for the IT team, a fantastic opportunity to learn new skills, and advance existing ones. Our environment consists of a wide range of software and hardware, with connectivity established into Azure and AWS. The role offers flexible working, a range of office locations to work from, opportunities to work from home, an excellent pension offering, and most importantly, great colleagues!
If you are keen to work in a challenging, exciting, and fast paced IT environment with a great team; this is the role for you.
What will you be doing?
You will become an important member of a thriving team, working with Azure, AWS, and everything from networks to storage units hosted within NNC’s 4 Data Centre’s. You will be involved in a mix of projects, maintenance, and escalation tickets from the service desk, with no week being the same as the previous one.
Please refer to the attached job description for full details.
About you
It is important you have a passion for technology and a strong desire to help drive improvements in technology to advance the council’s operations and user experience.
Please see the attached person specification for full details.
