About the role
We’re seeking to recruit a great new Night Home Carer; someone with the right values and positive attitude to work for the Specialist Support for Younger Adults team – could this be you?
The working hours for this role are from 10:00pm to 8:00am.
The successful candidate will support a customer with overnight support living within Cranford, Kettering.
As this role involves working during unsociable hours, you will be entitled to the following:
- Enhanced rates on from 8pm until 8pm including Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays
- Enhanced overtime pay
- Business mileage paid at 45p an hour
What will you be doing?
The role of a Night Home Carer is to:
Provide night support to a customer living within their own home. Customer may require support during the night which you will attend to.
Travel to different locations for customer support as and when required.
Provide practical, personal and emotional care and support to customers who may have a range of different health and social care needs.
Ensure each customer experiences a service that meets their own personal needs and preferences, as set out in their care/support plan, and to refer any areas of concern to the duty manager.
Work in such a way as that promotes the customers' health and wellbeing, ensures dignity is preserved, supports independence and choice whilst maintaining safety making sure any areas of concern are reported.
Provide a flexible service that may involve a range of activities including personal care, administration of prescribed medication, practical help at home, etc.
Work with the customer to understand and contribute to assess their needs of customers, e.g. risk, manual handling and use of low-level equipment.
Ensure that reasonable care is taken at all times for the health, safety and welfare of yourself and other persons.
Comply with the policies and procedures, and any relevant legislative requirements.
Carry out any other duties which all within the broad spirit, scope and purpose of this job and which are commensurate with the grade of the post.
About you
You don’t need to have previous experience in this field, nor do you need qualifications to get started – we are happy to support you and provide full training to fulfil the job role!
Candidates should have a full driving licence with access to a full serviced appropriately insured vehicle in order to travel to various locations.
Successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check which will be covered by the employer.
You must have a genuine interest to work within social care.
You should have the ability to provide excellent care and support to all our customers.
You should treat others with dignity and respect.
