About the role
Northamptonshire Adult Learning Service are looking for an Operations Support Officer to join us on a fixed term basis until Aug 26, covering the maternity leave of the current post holder. This vital role ensures the smooth running of our operations, providing key administrative support across a wide range of service functions. Through activities such as managing enrolments and exams to processing DBS checks and supporting customers, you’ll play a central part in helping us deliver high-quality education and training opportunities for our communities.
What will you be doing?
- Supporting day-to-day service operations by managing administrative processes such as exam bookings, enrolments, venue coordination, refunds, and DBS checks for learners and staff.
- Responding to enquiries from learners, staff, and external partners with timely and accurate information and advice.
- Using data systems (particularly TERMs) to input and maintain accurate learner records and generate both routine and complex reports.
- Monitoring data quality and working with MIS and Exams teams to ensure information is current and accurate.
- Helping identify and implement improvements to service processes, contributing to ongoing development initiatives.
- Supporting colleagues through informal guidance, sharing best practice, and providing cover during periods of absence.
- Building positive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders to support collaborative and effective service delivery.
About you
We’re looking for someone who thrives in a team environment, is flexible in their approach, and can adapt to new priorities when required.
You’ll have experience of administration with a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Comfortable working with data and digital systems, you’ll have a logical and methodical approach to your work and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy. Your excellent communication skills and customer-focused mindset will ensure you can respond to enquiries clearly and supportively.
