Are you an experienced Painter and Decorator looking for a role where your skills really make a difference?
We’re looking for a dedicated professional to join our team, carrying out internal and external decorating works across Council properties in the Kettering and Corby areas. If you take pride in delivering high‑quality finishes and enjoy working in a role where no two days are the same, we’d love to hear from you.
Full driving licence will be required
What will you be doing?
The main principles of the role will be:
- To carry out painting and decorating work as specified to Council housing stock to unoccupied properties.
- Internal and external decorating
- Able to deliver a fast, efficient service and high standards
- To work off ladders, scaffolds or cherry pickers as required and to be aware of hazards
- To be conversant with COSHH regulations and able to implement safety recommendation required.
- Able to identify harmful substances such as Asbestos bearing materials
About you
Essential criteria
- City and Guilds NVQ 2 or equivalent
- Safety Awareness – including manual handling and working at heights.
- At least 3 years’ experience.
- Knowledge of using PDA or similar for planning of work and communication with team.
- Conversant with COSHH regulations on decorating materials
- A dedication to being your best at all times and able to work as part of a team
- Ability to demonstrate awareness/understanding of equal opportunities and other people’s behaviour, physical, social and welfare needs.
- Full UK driving licence
