The Development Liaison Team brings together the Council’s highway advice, highway adoption and highway agreement services supported by our partners in Kier Highways, this small but dedicated team needs you to meet the challenges ahead.

What will you be doing?
The Principal Development Liaison Engineer sits within the Development Liaison team of the Councils Highways and Waste services which brings together the Council’s highway advice, highway adoption and highway agreement services supported by our partners in Kier Highways. This small but highly effective and dedicated team needs a Principal Engineer to lead the Highway Adoption and Highway Agreement functions. You will negotiate legal agreements including those under Section 38 and Section 278 of the Highways Act 1980. You will also lead on providing technical advice and support for the Council to ensure that developer proposals comply with appropriate local and national standards as well as working with developers to get new roads adopted.
You will be managing a small team with big responsibilities vital to ensure the Council’s aims and objectives of supporting appropriate development and growth are achieved.
About you
Are you our new Principal Development Liaison Engineer ready to lead our highway adoption and agreement services so vital to make sure new developments are served by the infrastructure necessary and which is compliant with appropriate standards?
You will be a suitably experienced and qualified engineer familiar with local government and developer processes, the planning system as well as the highway adoption mechanism. Your experience in highway design and managing a team with multiple schemes, balancing priorities and resources both internal and external will help us to deliver the services necessary to facilitate development.
