About the role
Are you passionate about transformation and making a difference in people’s lives? We’re looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Project Support Officer to join the One Council Programme, an ambitious initiative driving change through innovative transformation and digital solutions. This is a fixed term post till March 2026 (with potential to extend).
This is your chance to contribute to projects that will not only enhance how we work but also improve the way we support our residents. As a Project Support Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth delivery of transformation projects within the One Council Programme. You’ll provide critical support to Programme and Project Managers, ensuring projects are effectively planned, governed, and delivered to achieve real-world benefits for our communities.

What will you be doing?
Supporting Transformation Projects: Assist Programme and Project Managers in the development and implementation of transformative initiatives that enhance services and support residents. Ensure projects are delivered in alignment with governance frameworks, providing consistent and high-quality reporting to stakeholders.
Optimising Project Delivery: Support the use of key project management tools such as Monday.com, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams, ensuring teams work efficiently and effectively. Promote and encourage best practices in project management processes and frameworks.
Enabling Change: Work closely with enabling teams (e.g., HR, Finance, Legal, and Communications) to coordinate and facilitate project progress. Help deliver initiatives that simplify processes, improve collaboration, and unlock new ways of working, ultimately benefiting residents and communities.
Engaging Stakeholders: Act as a key point of contact for project teams, offering guidance, training, and support on tools, processes, and governance. Build strong relationships across the organisation, fostering a shared commitment to delivering meaningful transformation.
Facilitating Meetings and Governance: Organise, coordinate, and provide secretariat support for project governance and engagement meetings, ensuring actions are captured and followed up. Contribute to maintaining and developing project documentation and products to support successful project delivery.
About you
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking someone with strong organisational and coordination skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, You will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
You'll need a proactive approach to problem-solving and a passion for delivering positive change. We are looking for someone with a degree or equivalent qualification, or proven experience in supporting transformation and change projects, you'll have training in project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2 Foundation) and a good working knowledge of project tools like Monday.com, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams.
Experience in supporting digital transformation projects and knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) would be advantageous but not essential.
