Public Health Practitioner

What will you be doing?

This role will focus on partnership working across the system to improve the public health outcomes for children, young people and families, whilst reducing health inequalities. 

The scope of this role includes: 

• Providing public health input to partnership actions to improve outcomes for children and young people with long-term conditions,
• Supporting public health aspects of safeguarding agendas and SEND transformation,
• Coordinating public health-led actions that support children, young people and families who need more support to thrive. 

You will report to the Public Health Principal for Children and Young People and will work across the children’s portfolio to support the team and organisation in achieving the desired outcomes.

About you

We are looking for an experienced, passionate individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who works collaboratively with key stakeholders across a network of settings to influence stakeholders at all levels. Given the scope of the role, we are particularly interested in applications from experienced children’s nurses with community experience who are already working at a senior level, or who have transferable skills. Experience in leading service transformation or strategic commissioning would be an advantage.
