SOCIAL WORKER full time

Your differences make us different - #achievetogether

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

About the role

North Northamptonshire Council is looking for Social Care professionals with a passion to work alongside people in our community to help them live their best life.

Using a strengths-based approach, we utilise the Three Conversations model which allows people to tell us what is important and really matters to them, giving us the opportunity to find connections and resources that can help them to live the way they want to, either with support or independently.

We have full time role available in Corby in our Adult Social Care Community Hubs. Also known as the Front Door, the teams receive all new Adult Social Care referrals (excluding Learning Disabilities), from individuals themselves, family, friends and professionals, where the support required could range from signposting to local services, to completing a Care Act Assessment and designing a Care and Support Plan. Each team is located within the locality itself so that we are closer to the people we are supporting.

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Are qualified and registered Social Worker (including newly qualified)

•             Exercise professional curiosity rather than accept things at face value or make decisions based on assumptions

•             Demonstrate problem solving abilities, working alongside people to enable them to find their own solutions

•             Have a real commitment to identifying and promoting people’s strengths, hopes and aspirations

Adult Social Care is committed to ensuring we reward experience within our Social Care Workforce. Any registered Social Worker who has successfully completed their Assessed and Supported Year of Employment (ASYE), or has more than 5 years’ experience (if qualified prior to the ASYE coming in), will be awarded an extra £2000 (pro rata) Market Forces Supplement on top of their base salary. This is to reward the unique experience and knowledge you bring.

Our commitment to rewarding experience is also extended to those who undertake their ASYE with us. Upon successfully completing your assessed year you will be eligible for this supplement.

In addition to this, North Northants Adult Social Care also offers enhanced rates of pay for those who undertake additional duties on top of their day-day Social Work role.

For those who become Practice Educators, Approved Mental Health Professionals, or Best Interest Assessors (in addition to their Social Work role), and meet the base qualifying criteria, we offer a further £2000 (Pro Rata).

This means there is the potential to earn an extra £4,000 on top of your base salary.

If you are a qualified and registered Social Worker (including newly qualified) who meet these core values, and are committed to continuous professional development, we would love to hear from you. For an informal discussion about the roles we have available, please contact Sam Weston or Jeanette Ward on 01604 361399.
