You’ll deliver high-quality, efficient, and responsive administrative and technical support to the Building Control team, ensuring the needs of internal and external customers are met.
The role supports the Council’s statutory duties under the Building Regulations 2010, Building Act 1984, and associated legislation, while contributing to a professional, customer-focused Local Authority Building Control (LABC) service that seeks to grow market share and maximise income.

What will you be doing?
You will provide accurate and timely technical and administrative support, including data processing, application validation, certificate preparation, and customer liaison.
You’ll coordinate incoming queries, notifications, and fee quotation requests in line with service targets.
You will have the opportunity to contribute to service improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and productivity and undertake special projects and research as required.
About you
You will be experienced in a construction-related administrative role, or equivalent demonstrable knowledge.
You will have experience working in a busy office environment acting as the first point of contact.
You’ll have excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office, MS Teams, and Microsoft 365.
You will be able to read and interpret technical drawings and construction-related documentation.
Your high attention to detail with an analytical and methodical approach will be essential to the role.
You will be able and willing to travel across the county, including at short notice.
