We are looking for a detail-focused and dedicated individual to join our team on a twenty-four-month contract or secondment.   

Our team has big plans to be an inspirational local government IT service, and we need great people to help us achieve our goals.  

Our customers have many varied service and customer-facing roles and they rely on us to keep their technology working so they can continue to do the work they do for the residents of North Northamptonshire.   

Our service functions within Development Services and Regulatory Services are in the process of moving from multiple case management systems to a single cloud hosted case management system. This is a complex project that will require the relevant resource and expertise to ensure its successful delivery.  

The role is a crucial part of a dedicated project team, you will provide technical support on the wide range of ICT activities required both pre- implementation and during delivery.  A good working knowledge of ICT and some experience of the service environment / case management systems is preferred, we are very interested in people who are passionate about ICT and customer service, who want to make a difference and who love to learn new skills and challenge themselves. What will you be doing?

You will be working as part of the project team responsible for the delivery of the new Planning and Regulatory Services Case Management System (CMS). You will provide guidance and task management to the Application Support Officer, together you will be responsible for assisting the project team in understanding, configuring, developing and supporting the migration from current systems and implementation of the new system.   

This will involve working with the project team and the supplier to support the alignment and migration of documents, data and processes from the five existing CMS's and associated document stores. You will engage with other I.T technical leads and project managers to facilitate and steer the creation and migration of system interfaces. You will take a lead in completing pre-implementation activities and help to negotiate changes with users and suppliers. You will liaise with business subject matter experts and super users to share understanding of the systems technical capabilities and promote best practices to ensure the maximum benefit can be gained.   

There will be a lot to learn, but we will give you the training you need and continue to support you as you gain confidence.  

About you

We are looking for a dynamic individual committed to providing excellent customer service. You will have a strong technical background, possess excellent problem-solving and communication skills and be customer-focused. In addition, you will be someone with high levels of accuracy and who pays attention to detail.  

You will be self-motivated, organised and able to work in a pressurised environment, as part of a team and on your own, managing competing priorities.  

You will have a mature, methodical and organised approach to work and take responsibility to see tasks through to completion.  

We value flexible working and work-life balance, and you will have opportunities to work from home whenever possible. However, during the project there will be a need for in person working with the project team, the applications support team and supporting staff across the range of North Northamptonshire offices so having the ability to travel between sites is important.
