About the role

The North Northamptonshire Stop Smoking Service are looking to recruit a full-time permanent Stop Smoking Advisor.  The successful candidate will work with service users, providing behavioural support and pharmacological intervention to support their attempt to stop smoking.  As Stop Smoking Advisor you will play an important role in reducing smoking prevalence across North Northamptonshire.  Our team of advisors provide support across North Northamptonshire both in person and over the telephone. As such, it is important for the successful candidate to be able to work and travel independently. 

This role combines working remotely and within Council offices across North Northamptonshire.  Working hours are 37 per week on a full-time permanent basis.  There is a requirement for the successful candidate to work one evening per week (times negotiable)   

What will you be doing?

You will manage a caseload of clients that are seeking support to help them stop smoking.  As part of the services 12 week programme, you will work closely with service users providing information, medication and guidance that will increase the likelihood of a successful quit attempt. This support will be provided both in person and remotely. 

About you

The successful candidate will be empathic, supportive, reliable and an excellent communicator.  Experience of working in the field of smoking cessation is not essential but experience of working with members of the public to improve their health and wellbeing would be beneficial.
