About the role
We are seeking a creative and motivated Stop Smoking Specialist to lead the communications and community engagement work within our expanding Stop Smoking Service. In this role, you will take responsibility for developing and delivering targeted communication and engagement programmes that promote smoking cessation and tobacco control across North Northamptonshire.
What will you be doing?
A key part of the role involves building strong and effective relationships with a wide range of partners, including health professionals, voluntary sector organisations and community groups. You will represent the service at events, meetings and community activities, helping to raise the profile of stop smoking support and ensuring that our messages reach the people and communities who need them most. You will also analyse communication and performance data to evaluate the impact of campaigns and engagement work, using insights to inform service improvements and support evidence‑based planning.
You will also deliver Level 2 and refresher training for colleagues, partners and community organisations, helping to build capacity and strengthen referral pathways across the area.
About you
We are looking for someone educated to degree level in health promotion, communications, engagement or a related discipline, or with equivalent relevant experience. You should have strong communication skills and experience in media, marketing, community engagement or health improvement. The ability to analyse data, present ideas clearly, and build effective partnerships is essential. Knowledge of behaviour change principles and public health priorities is also important. You must be able to work flexibly and travel across North Northamptonshire as required. A DBS check is required for this role..
