About the role
Are you passionate about shaping communities and delivering affordable housing solutions? Join North Northamptonshire Council as a Strategic Housing Officer and play a key role in enabling sustainable, inclusive growth across the region.
As a Strategic Housing Officer, you’ll work at the heart of housing strategy and delivery. Collaborating with planners, developers, housing associations, and legal teams, you’ll help ensure that affordable housing meets the needs of our diverse communities
What will you be doing?
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to deliver the Council’s housing strategy and enabling functions.
- Negotiate and manage Section 106 agreements to secure affordable housing across developments.
- Support the regeneration and development of local neighbourhoods through new housing initiatives.
- Influence planning policy and contribute to planning application consultations.
- Use data and research to support strategic decisions on housing needs and demand.
- Contribute to the development and review of key strategic documents, including the Housing Strategy.
- Deputise for the Senior Strategic Housing Officer when required.
About you
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in housing strategy, planning, or development.
- Skilled in partnership working and negotiation.
- Analytical, with the ability to interpret housing data and trends.
- A strong communicator with a collaborative mindset.
- Passionate about delivering positive outcomes for communities.
