About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join North Northamptonshire Council as a cleansing driver within the Waste Team. 

 

The successful candidate will be based at our various depots and be part of a front-line team providing a vital service to local residents.

 

You will work with other team members over various routes that will change daily.

 

You will need to be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

 

You will need to be polite to customers and other members of the public who you will meet.

 

You will need to demonstrate the ability to treat all staff and customers respectfully.

What will you be doing?

On daily basis you will:

1) Collecting items in a timely manner,

2) Working as a part of a cross functional team,

3) Communicate with team members and customers,

4) Clean allocated areas as requested by line manager.

5) Maintain equipment as required ensuring they are safe to use and reporting defects.

6) Support with any paperwork as required.

7) Follow correct Health & Safety procedures.

8) Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested. 

About you

You will be physically fit as the role can be quite demanding.

 

You should enjoy working outside and be able to work on your own initiative. 

 

You should have a flexible approach to work with a positive attitude as the role can be varied.

 

You should exhibit a can-do attitude and be willing to learn and take on more responsibility as you develop.
