About the role

Northamptonshire Adult Learning Service are looking to recruit an inspiring and enthusiastic Teacher on a fixed term basis until May 2026 to join the Adult Learning Service delivering a range of entry level programmes as part of our UKSPF bid

What will you be doing?

We are seeking a dedicated Fixed Term Tutor to join our dynamic Adult Education Service team in Northamptonshire. This role is pivotal in delivering a variety of entry-level, non-accredited courses across the county, focusing on employability, engagement, IT, and essential skills. The position is aligned with our commitment to enhancing community learning through the UKSPF-funded initiatives. The candidate will need to be able to deliver a range of courses aligned to the underlying themes of improving employability prospects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, interactive sessions for adult learners on non-accredited employability skills, IT literacy, and essential skills via a range of engaging courses utilising differing topics of study.
  • Develop course materials and resources that align with the curriculum and learner needs.
  • Assess learner progress and provide constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance course delivery and student outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and achievement.

About you

  • Experience in delivering adult education courses, particularly in employability, IT, and essential skills areas.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and motivate adult learners from diverse backgrounds.

  • Organisational skills to effectively manage course planning, delivery, and assessment.

  • Knowledge of current educational practices and a commitment to continuous professional development.

Desirable Skills:

  • Relevant teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed) or substantial experience in adult education.

  • Familiarity with UKSPF-funded programs or similar government-funded initiatives.

  • Experience in developing and adapting curriculum content to meet learner needs.

  • Understanding of digital learning tools and technologies.
