About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join North Northamptonshire Council as a Technical Officer within a small, dedicated team dealing with Street Naming and Numbering (SNN) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The successful candidate will be based at our Wellingborough office but will deal with sites across North Northamptonshire.
What will you be doing?
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and updating property addresses, including the naming of new streets and allocating an appropriate numbering scheme in line with national legislation and Council policy.
You will also be required to input and extract mapping information for other parts of the service to help facilitate the statutory function of the department.
About you
You will be computer literate with good oral and written communication skills. You will be organised with the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines whilst maintaining attention to detail. You will be an effective team player, but capable of working on own initiative. Ideally you will have previous experience of Street Naming and Numbering and/or Geographic Information Systems.
