Your differences make us different - #achievetogether

About the role

Funded through the Public Health Housing Support Grant and working within the Temporary Accommodation Team, provide support and assistance to single homeless people living in temporary accommodation in need of or accessing treatment for drug and alcohol misuse to help them sustain their accommodation and prevent repeat homelessness.

Positively promote the Housing Support Grant programme to partners and regularly report on the progress of cases being supported in accordance with grant funding conditions.

This role will be based in North Northamptonshire.

Please note, based on external funding, this post is fixed term until the 31st March 2026.

What will you be doing?

Working closely with the Housing Options Team and partner agencies, you will deliver person centred, non-prescriptive support to households throughout their treatment and recovery journey.

You will be providing housing advice, guidance, and housing related support to ensure that individuals are able to successfully maintain their accommodation or find alternative suitable accommodation as required. Ultimately your intervention will help to improve recovery outcomes and avoid homelessness.

You will also effectively liaise with a range of colleagues, partners, and other agencies to ensure appropriate specialist support is accessed to meet their individual needs.

About you

You will have experience of working in a support role, including assessment, support planning and advocacy and an ability to work with vulnerable people.

Working effectively as part of a team and with the ability to develop good working relationships with colleagues and service users, you will be able to work well under your own initiative and prioritise your workload.

To succeed in the role, you must be focussed on achieving positive outcomes, have excellent communication skills and demonstrate effective problem-solving skills in supporting people.
