About the role
North Northamptonshire Council is seeking to hire full-time Waste Collection Drivers to help provide essential services to our residents. If you possess enthusiasm and resilience, this role could be the perfect fit for you!
What will you be doing?
You will be responsible for the collection and disposal of waste (including but not limited to, household waste, food waste, garden waste, dry recycling) from residents and business premises across North Northamptonshire.
Main duties include:
- The safe operation and control of any allocated vehicle, including vehicle checks, reporting of defects, and cleaning.
- Assist with the collection and loading of waste receptacles as required.
- Provide a high quality customer focused service at all times.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety requirements.
About you
We need you to
- Hold a full clean driving licence (Class C), tachograph and up to date Driver CPC qualification.
- Drive HGV vehicles, be able to walk for long periods of time and carry out heavy practical work in all weathers.
- Be flexible and positive in your approach.
- Be an effective communicator and willing to work as part of a team.
