About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Youth Co-ordinator role which reports directly to the Children's Service Engagement and Participation Manager. The role also works closely with the Family Hubs and the Public Health Team.  

What will you be doing?

This role will work to engage youth providers and young people aged 11-24 years old, including those from marginalised and underrepresented communities, to determine what youth activities they would like to engage in and steer them toward future participation in existing youth offers across North Northamptonshire based on their interests and social and emotional needs. 

The role will include the development, planning and delivery of youth engagement, working in partnership with both internal services and external youth providers, existing youth forums, panels and steering groups to ensure that the voice of young people is heard.

Develop and manage partnerships across all relevant sectors (including health, education, police, VCSE) to meet young peoples ever changing needs. 

Working with identified youth service partners, the role is responsible for providing monthly updates on youth activities being delivered, as well as advice on future youth activities in the area, ensuring they reflect good practice and support Children and Young people outcomes.

You will stay informed about latest policy developments in youth work, including the Statutory Duty 507B and implement relevant policy updates within the work delivered. 

About you

We are looking for a passionate individual who is experienced in youth work, to work across North Northamptonshire.  The successful candidate will hold a professional Youth Work Qualification (JNC) or equivalent. You will have excellent communication skills to work collaboratively with key stakeholders across a network of settings, within these relationships you need to represent the values of the organisation and sector. You will need to have effective interpersonal skills, be able to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.

This role covers North Northamptonshire and work may take place anywhere across the authority area, you will need to be able to travel and access a variety of locations as part of the role which may also include occasional evening and weekend work.
