About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to provide a positive and welcoming  presence as a casual café assistant at Skylark Cafe. The ideal individual will have excellent communication skills and be prepared to work in a busy café environment. You will be expected to serve customers, prepare and cook food and have cash handling responsibilities. The role will also include maintaining a clean and hygienic working environment and will involve wiping down tables. The suitable candidate will have excellent communication skills and will always serve with a smile. 

What will you be doing?

  1. To serve food to customers.
  2. Wash up cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils
  3. To collect dirty dishes from tables
  4. To wipe down tables.
  5. To serve at till point as required.
  6. To assist café staff with food preparation if required
  7. Restocking chill cabinets
  8. Collect refuse from around café
  9. To help visitors with their enquiries, directing them to rangers as necessary.
  10. To ensure that reasonable care is taken at all times for the health, safety and welfare of yourself and other persons, and to comply with policies and procedures relating to health and safety within the County Council.
  11. Demonstrate awareness/understanding of equal opportunities and other people's behaviour, physical, social and welfare needs.
  12. To carry out any other duties which fall within the broad spirit, scope and purpose of this job description.
