About the role
Temporary Accommodation Officer
Full time, fixed term (2 years)
37 hours per week
While the Council has made real progress in the way it delivers housing services, by focusing on the prevention of homelessness, for some people already experiencing homelessness the Council provides temporary accommodation while they are supported to find somewhere suitable to live.
It is not easy for people living in temporary accommodation, so if you want to make a difference and play an active role in changing people’s lives, look no further.
Working within the Temporary Accommodation Team you will work alongside Housing Options and Resettlement Teams to support those living in temporary accommodation and ensure their temporary homes are safe and suitable for their occupation. You will be responsible for letting and managing temporary accommodation provided to homeless households including those assisted through the government’s resettlement programmes.
With a minimum of two years relevant work experience in a customer focused environment you will also have excellent communication skills and be a skilled negotiator and problem solver. This is a busy role, in a fast paced environment so the successful candidate will also need to be able to meet deadlines, prioritise their workload, and work as part of an incredible team.
The role will be based across the locality of North Northamptonshire.
