About the role

Working in a small team, within the Housing Options Service, and alongside our Rough Sleeping
Team, you will be delivering specialist advice and interventions for ex offenders in need of accommodation and support.
What will you be doing?
You will work collaboratively with criminal justice partners and local landlords/letting agents to prevent homelessness and rough sleeping for ex offenders, by providing advice and support to help secure and retain tenancies in the private rented sector.
This will include progressing homelessness applications in accordance with relevant legislation and guidance, writing housing and support plans, completing risk assessments and capturing positive outcomes.
About you
You will have experience of working in housing within a local authority, housing association or equivalent experience within another organisation, and experience of handling a caseload and provision of housing or tenancy related advice and support.
You will have a proven ability to provide excellent customer care working effectively with others, have good interpersonal skills and be able to adapt to an ever-changing working environment.
To succeed in the role, you must have excellent communication skills, be an accomplished negotiator and problem solver and be able to work by your own initiative. You must also have knowledge of private rented sector access issues and challenges and a good understanding of the main causes of homelessness and rough sleeping and the barriers that people face when trying to access accommodation and support services.
