About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the North Northamptonshire Council (NNC) Safeguarding Team for an Assessment and Enablement Worker with experience and knowledge of safeguarding to join our friendly team on a fixed term contract for 10 months.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Safeguarding Provider Team.  The role is for an Assessment and Enablement Worker to join a well established team comprising of Principal Social Workers/Care Managers, Social Workers, Senior Assessment and Enablement Workers and a Business Support Team who put individuals and risk assessing at the centre of their practice.

We are seeking someone who appreciates a challenge, is proactive and be able to use professional curiosity when protecting vulnerable people who are referred to us under the safeguarding process. You must be able to work effectively with other agencies and organisations and have good problem-solving skills.

There is an expectation for you to be in the office at Haylock House, Kettering at least twice a week.

Interviews will take place on 30 July 2024 at Haylock House, Kettering

What will you be doing?

The team receives all Safeguarding referrals for adults where there are concerns that abuse or neglect may have occurred / be occurring within the boundaries of North Northamptonshire that identify the alleged source of risk as a provider or a paid professional within that setting. 

Utilising good communication and listening skills you will be working to safeguard allocated individuals to understand their situation, challenges, and the outcomes that they wish to achieve through Making Safeguarding Personal.

You will need to be a good decision maker, able to prioritise effectively and work under pressure, exercising professional curiosity rather than take things at face value.
