About the role

Our Business Support Officers are very important to us.  They perform crucial duties to support the teams they work for.

This role will provide the successful candidate with an exciting opportunity to experience and work with a variety of different teams based across Adult Social Care. This is a very unique role in that it is the only role of its kind within Adult Social Care!  

You will be based primarily in our offices in Tithe Barn in Wellingborough.  However, you will also be providing holiday and sickness cover for our BSO's across our other teams.  That may mean that one week you would be in Thrapston covering for our Inclusion Hub and the next you may be in Kettering covering for our Community Hub.  There is also an element of home working with this role.

We have good training opportunities and you will be working within a supportive and friendly team. 

The salary for this role is £21,970

There will be a very quick turnaround with this role in that interviews will take place on Wednesday 26 July 2023 at Swanspool House, Wellingborough.  You will be notified if you have been shortlisted on Monday 24 July 2023.

What will you be doing?

The main duties of the role are:

  • answering the phone, entering data on the database, maintaining spreadsheets and taking minutes at meetings.  Support will be given on all aspects of the role from both team members and the other BSO’s within other Adult Social Care teams. 
  • providing administrative support for Adult Social Care Hubs.
  • maintaining an accurate database with information provided by the accountable workers on relevant customers of Adult Social Care.
  • answer all incoming calls received for the team you are covering for including prioritising and taking necessary administrative actions.
  • providing an efficient and confidential administrative service, including use of all electronic applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, databases, Outlook etc, to enable the team to deliver services efficiently.
  • attending inter-agency and inter-departmental meetings as requested including taking minutes of the meetings whilst maintaining a high degree of confidentiality for all information handled (training will be provided).

About you

  • Applicants will be able to demonstrate good communication skills and be confident on the telephone. You will have a good level of IT skills with a sound knowledge of Word, Outlook and Excel and have a good attention to detail.
  • The successful candidate will be organised and be able to use their own initiative. We need someone who is able to work under pressure and to deadlines and who is friendly and reliable.   
  • Minute taking experience is not essential, as this is something that we can train you on.
