About the role
As a member of our Communications and Marketing team you will play an important role in communicating key messages covering the wide range of services the Council delivers.
You will help the team ensure that our residents, businesses, partners and staff are kept up to date with the latest Council news, decisions and policies, and ensure the promotion of all Council services and support.
The role is varied, and you will be working across all areas of the team including liaising with local and national media organisations; delivering marketing campaigns; creating internal communications; managing design and branding projects; and working with a wide range of digital communications channels including social media.
North Northamptonshire Council only came into being in April 2021, and this is an opportunity to help shape the future of one of the largest unitary authorities in the country. As a relatively new council, we are constantly growing and developing, and we have some exciting stories to tell – can you help us tell them?
What will you be doing?
You will need to be able to work quickly and accurately to help support and promote the exciting and diverse work of our Council.
Under the guidance of the Senior Communications and Marketing Managers and working with the Communications and Marketing Specialists you will help support the communications team on marketing campaigns, internal communications and media management.
You will also take an active role in managing back-office administration and processes ensuring the communication service runs efficiently and effectively.
About you
You will have experience in marketing and communications, and a skillset that includes copywriting, working with the media, digital marketing and social media.
You will be a natural communicator who is able to adapt quickly between communications disciplines and across the different directorates which provide the variety of services we have.
As well as being creative you will need to be pragmatic and flexible and able to deal with challenges when they arise, making sense of complex information and then communicating it to others.
You’ll be supported by great colleagues in this tight-knit team, but you will also be able to work independently when required.
