This is an exciting time for the Electoral Services team at North Northamptonshire Council, we have recently undergone a transformation and are investing in growing our service. We are looking for multiple people to join our team and support in delivering comprehensive, accessible, effective and modern electoral registration and elections services.

Elections are a great opportunity to work as part of a team and take a sense of pride in supporting democracy.

What will you be doing?

The successful candidate will:

  • Primarily ensure that as many residents as possible are included on the Register of Electors by collecting outstanding returns from households and individuals by undertaking  personal canvassing activities. 
  • Visiting properties (at various times of day), to obtain electoral registration details and assist members of the public with completion of their electoral registration form.
  • Assist the Electoral Services Officer (Engagement) with preparing for and engaging with local residents through a programme of outreach activities.

About you

You will:

  • Have GCSE or equivalent qualifications in English and Mathematics (Grade C).
  • Have experience of working in the community with a wide range of people from different backgrounds.
  • Have experience of processing personal data and a good understanding of the principles of data security.
  • Be flexible to work weekends and evenings.

Part time and full time positions available.

We are undertaking consultation with the Trade Unions on terms and conditions and the future NNC pay structure and during this time are appointing new employees on interim spot salaries. You will be advised of the outcome and any impact on your role once this work is complete.
