The role will involve overseeing financial processes, maintaining robust systems, and ensuring compliance with corporate financial regulations. You will also contribute to the operational delivery of High Needs Funding functions and provide essential financial and business support across multiple services.

What will you be doing?

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing accurate and timely financial advice, guidance and information to academies, maintained schools and internal teams.
  • Overseeing the processing of invoices and payments, ensuring adherence to financial controls and authorisation procedures.
  • Supporting the High Needs Funding Team Manager with the operational delivery of the service.
  • Managing payment processes to ensure all agreed High Needs funding is allocated and paid accurately and within agreed timescales.
  • Maintaining accurate and auditable financial records, supporting transparency and effective financial monitoring.
  • Undertaking and overseeing transactional financial processes including purchase orders, journals, reconciliations and budget monitoring.
  • Providing business and financial support across High Needs Funding, EHC and Educational Psychology services, including data management and maintaining accurate pupil placement information.

About you

  • You will have strong organisational skills, with the ability to plan and prioritise workloads effectively in a busy environment.
  • You will have experience of financial processes, systems and controls, ideally within a local authority or education setting.
  • You will demonstrate excellent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations.
  • You will be a confident communicator, able to respond to queries and provide guidance to a range of stakeholders.
  • You will be a team player with a proactive, solution-focused approach and a strong customer service ethos.
  • You will have experience using Microsoft Office applications (particularly Excel) and financial or data systems.

Training will be provided on our in-house systems and processes.
