About the role

An opportunity has arisen for a flexible motivated and customer focused individual to undertake the post of Mobile Support Worker who can help us deliver our great service.

The post is a Full time. A 5 week rolling Rota is in place with shift patterns ranging  between 8am and 8pm and which includes some weekends and bank holidays, please see the attached example rota. 

What will you be doing?

Reporting to the Team Leader – Support Services the role focusses on providing a regular visiting and support service to the elderly  living in sheltered accommodation and residents connected to our customer contact and control center.

You will  be required to respond to emergency situations within the Councils own sheltered schemes and customers in the community who use the Dispersed Community Alarm.

The service operates 24 hours a day,  7 days a week all year and therefore you must be prepared to work to cover current shift patterns which will include Early’s (8-4.30) or Late’s (11.30-8). There may be occasions when you may be asked to cover half shifts. You will be required to undertake call out duties on a rotational basis to respond to emergency out of hour’s situations. An on call allowance is payable in addition to the basic salary. 

About you

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and  communication skills and have a genuine interest in working with our elderly customers. They will also have a friendly disposition, an enthusiastic approach   as well as the ability to remain calm whilst under pressure.

Interested applicants should be educated to GCSE standard or equivalent and have  experience of  working with elderly, sick or disabled residents
