About the role
An opportunity has arisen within housing in the Supported Housing team for a Mobile Support Worker. The Supported Housing team provide tenancy support to our tenants in sheltered housing.
What will you be doing?
The successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of a comprehensive and reliable support service for our tenants of sheltered accommodation. This includes:
- Emergency response to calls from the community alarm service
- Assessing tenants' support needs
- Ensuring that tenants are in receipt of all appropriate benefits
- Reviewing and monitoring any changes in tenants welfare
- Referrals and signposting for more intensive support.
Personal care is not provided.
About you
The ideal candidate will have experience working with an elderly client group in a supported housing or similar environment. You will have good communication skills and be able to show empathy and compassion in sometimes challenging situations. You will also be a good problem solver and be flexible and adaptable to change.
The service covers 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and you will be required to work within a 5 week rota that covers 4 on calls (8pm – 8am) and the following shift pattern.
Week 1 4pm - 8pm Monday - Friday (on call 8pm - 8am Monday - Wednesday)
Week 2 9 - 2 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
Week 3 9 - 2 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
Week 4 9 - 2 Monday, Tuesday and Friday
12 - 5 Saturday and Sunday (on call 8pm - 8am Saturday)
Week 5 9 - 2 Monday, Tuesday and Friday
