Housing Options Advisor (Fixed Term Contract)

What will you be doing?

You will support single homeless people to prevent their homelessness, or help them to find new accommodation if they have already become homeless.

Working proactively and collaboratively with a range of services and organisations, you will safeguard vulnerable people and those with complex needs, by identifying any risks, unmet support needs and develop multi agency support plans to ensure their needs are met.

You will assess and decide on applications for assistance in line with homelessness legislation, and manage a caseload ensuring a focus on excellent customer care, and positive outcomes.

About you

You will need a good understanding and knowledge of the main causes of homelessness and rough sleeping, and the barriers that people face when trying to access accommodation and support services.

You will also have a proven ability to provide excellent customer care working effectively with others, have good interpersonal skills and be able to adapt to an ever-changing working environment.

To succeed in the role, you must have excellent communication, written and interpersonal skills, be an accomplished negotiator and problem solver and be able to work by your own initiative.
