About the role

North Northants Council’s Technology, Digital, and Data service is seeking a talented and dedicated Senior Application Support Officer to join our hardworking and ambitious team. 

Within our education area, we are beginning the process of replacing the core case management solutions, which presents exciting opportunities to play a key role in actively supporting and implementing these systems. As a Senior Application Support Officer, you will be assisting the technical lead with implementation, testing and support.  

What will you be doing?

This presents an outstanding opportunity to spearhead the development, shaping, and implementation of an innovative case management system for the Council. 

 You will play a crucial role in supporting and implementing the education system and other vital applications throughout the Council.  

Your role will involve maintaining open lines of communication with application users to promote best practices and conduct proactive research for the development, upkeep, and management of specific application systems. You will also be accountable for efficiently troubleshooting issues, addressing user enquiries, testing, and guaranteeing the smooth functioning of our software products. 

About you

You will be a dynamic individual dedicated to rendering exceptional application support across North Northamptonshire.  

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in supporting and implementing education systems, and additional experience in social care systems would be advantageous. Moreover, experience in supervising staff would be beneficial. 

You should possess excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with a strong customer focus. Attention to detail and accuracy are crucial requirements for this role. 

You will be self-motivated, organised, and have the ability to operate effectively in time-critical environments. In addition, you should be able to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team, effectively managing competing priorities.  

An approach to work characterised by maturity, attention to detail and organisation is essential, as well as a willingness to take responsibility and see tasks through to completion.
