About the role

The successful applicants MUST HAVE A FULL UK Driving Licence and be able to drive a company van to and from different locations within NNC. Applicants must also have experience in ground works and manual digging. Covering the parks, gardens, open spaces, highways and cemeteries throughout NNC the successful applicant will provide grass cutting, strimming, litter picking, hedge cutting, grave digging, weed spraying and other duties within the scope of the role.
The role is currently based out of the Corby depot however the role may be deployed across the area of operations in Kettering, Wellingborough or Thrapston and the successful applicant may need to work out of any of these areas as a primary base.
What will you be doing?
Duties will include
Digging with hand tools
Strimming/Grass Cutting/Shovelling soil
Manual Labour / Ground works
Litter picking
Weed spraying
Driving
Using hand tools
Watering and maintaining newly planted trees
About you
We operate in all weathers (rain or shine!) so you must be happy to work outdoors
· This role can be physically demanding and will include lifting and carrying heavy equipment
· Good communication skills as you will be liaising with our customers as well as internal members of staff and members of the public
· You should have an interest in grounds maintenance or a willingness to learn new things (experience is desirable but if you don’t we can provide you with training required)
· You should willing to try your hand at other jobs within the service, as some flexibility would be desirable
