About the role
We are seeking enthusiastic person to provide a positive and welcoming NNC presence as a Café worker/ Supervisor in East Carlton Countryside Park near Corby. The ideal individual will have excellent communication skills and be prepared to work in a busy environment. Duties will involve ordering supplies, rotating stock, cashing up, serving customers, cleaning, supervising casual staff and liaising with the general public. This is an ideal opportunity for an individual wishing to work in a beautiful countryside park setting.
What will you be doing?
Main Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Supervising the operation of the cafe ensuring that duties and activities are carried out in accordance with East Carlton Countryside Park operating procedures and the requirements of the Environmental Health department.
2. Ensure an excellent standard of customer care is implemented and maintained in line with the Customer Service Standards including answering enquiries in the café/ kiosk and on the telephone.
3. To prepare and serve drinks and foodstuffs.
4. To ensure a clean and safe environment in the food preparation and serving area, including the seating area of the Café/kiosk. Implementing excellent food hygiene standards.
5. Maintain adequate levels of stock for the café and kiosk provisions. Ensuring the ordering of stock in a timely manner.
6. Comply with the Councils Health and Safety Policy. To help ensure compliance with Health and Safety and other mandatory guidelines and legislation.
7. Ensuring the security of the building (including opening / locking up duties and nominated key holder duties) and safeguarding of the property of the Council.
8. Taking payment for goods, cashing up and accounting of all monies received in accordance with the Councils Financial Rules.
9. Take bookings for the camp site and log cabin.
Specific Responsibilities:
1. The carrying out of all cleaning tasks, both internal and external as per the East Carlton Countryside Park cleaning procedures and maintain cleaning stores in accordance with COSHH regulations and general housekeeping standards.
2. The post holder will supervise casual staff at all times maintaining a safe, clean and healthy environment for staff and costumers.
3. The post holder will be required to assist in the training of casual staff.
4. The post holder will be required to take bookings for the camp site and log cabin and make sure all paper work related to this is completed and correct.
5. The post holder will be responsible for making sure the building and safe keys are kept securely at all times and not left on the premises over night.
6. Ensure the general safety and behaviour of the public to prevent injury, misuse and damage to equipment. Ensure that proper uses are made of the building and equipment.
7. Administer the appropriate First Aid recording accidents / incidents in line with operating procedures.
8. Undertake other duties related to the functioning of the facility as directed by the Community Recreation and Events Officer.

The post holder must attend all relevant training related to the requirements of the post. The post includes evening and weekend working which is inclusive of the salary grade

A uniform is provided and must be worn. It is a special condition of employment that the post holder will work a shift system including working every second weekend, which is subject to variation to meet the requirements of the service. Hours of work will include all facility opening times (including bank holidays if required) - Any overtime payments will be paid at basic rate.
