About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Supported Housing Team to undertake the post of Elderly Support Assistant on a part time basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a visiting service to our residents of sheltered accommodation. It also includes emergency response to calls from the community alarm service for frail, elderly and disabled tenants and residents.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with an elderly client group in a supported housing or similar environment. You will have good communication skills and be able to show empathy and compassion in sometimes challenging situations.
A manual driving licence and access to a car is essential. The service covers 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and you will be required to work within a 5 week rota that covers weekends, bank holidays and 3 on calls (8pm – 8am) and the following shift pattern.
Week 1 9-1 Tuesday to Friday
Week 2 9-1 Monday, Tuesday and Friday
2-8 Saturday and Sunday
Week 3 9-1 Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
Week 4 9-1 Monday to Friday
Week 5 9-1 Monday - Wednesday
8-2 Saturday and Sunday
What will you be doing?
You will be visiting our sheltered housing schemes and ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of our most vulnerable tenants. You will provide the first port of call to our residents and escalate any concerns to the Mobile Support Worker or other Housing colleagues.

You will be a friendly, outgoing person who likes to engage with others. You will need to be flexible, be able to build rapport quickly and be observant to changes.
