About the role

An opportunity has arisen for a flexible motivated and customer focused individual to undertake the part time post of Elderly Support Worker (ESA) and help us deliver our great service to  our tenants and customers.

The post is a part time. A 5 week rolling Rota is in place with shift patterns ranging between 8pm and 8am and which includes some weekends and bank holidays.

What will you be doing?

Reporting to the Team Leader – Support Services the role focusses on providing a regular visiting and support service to the residents living in sheltered accommodation and residents connected to our customer contact and control center.

The support service aims to keep residents happy, healthy, independent, safe and secure.  

You will be required to respond to emergency situations within the Councils own sheltered schemes and customers in the community who use the Dispersed Community Alarm.

The service operates 24 hours a day,  7 days a week all year and therefore you must be prepared to work to cover current shift patterns which will include Mornings (9-1) or Late’s (2-8). which includes 2 weekends in every 5. 

You will be required to undertake call out duties on a rotational basis to respond to emergency out of hour’s situations. To do this you will ideally  live in the Corby area or be in a position to arrive on site  within 10-15 mins.  

About you

If you have a genuine interest in working with a predominantly elderly client group and have  experience of working in a support or care role with elderly, sick or disabled residents you might just be the person we are looking for.

The ideal candidate will have a good standard of education/ literacy, excellent communication skills along with a friendly disposition and enthusiastic approach as well as the ability to remain calm whilst under pressure.

You will need to have a drivers licence and access to a vehicle on the weeks when not on call as you will need to travel from scheme to scheme across the borough. When on call or weekend working a fleet vehicle is available for use.
