About the role

Are you passionate about delivering high-quality, affordable housing and driving forward innovative development projects? North Northamptonshire Council is seeking a dynamic and experienced Housing Development and Acquisitions Manager to lead our housing investment programme and shape the future of housing across the region.

This is a pivotal role responsible for managing all aspects of our housing development and acquisitions strategy — from affordable housing data management and council owned land optimisation to ensuring a pipeline of appropriately adapted homes for our tenants.

What will you be doing?

  • Lead the delivery of the Council’s housing development and acquisitions investment programme.
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date register of affordable housing across North Northamptonshire.
  • Oversee the optimisation of garage sites and the supply of newly adapted homes.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, including the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985 and the Housing Act 2004.
  • Manage procurement processes to ensure financial compliance and value for money.
  • Lead and support teams based at Robinson Way and Fleming Road Depots.
  • Provide expert advice on the impact of new legislation and support service transformation.
  • Deputise for the Head of Housing Maintenance and Development when required.

About you

  • Proven experience in housing development, acquisitions, or property investment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of housing legislation, planning, and development frameworks.
  • Excellent project management and procurement expertise.
  • Ability to drive innovation and transformational change in service delivery.
  • A collaborative and strategic thinker with a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes for residents.
